Riano Grace Mizuno

It has been way too long since I updated my blog!! Who would have thought being pregnant would be a full time job! :P And of course now that Riano is out in the real world she is a full time job plus overtime. She is healthy and super cute! We are both doing great, besides the lack of sleep. :D  She is now 2 months old. She smiles a lot and she LOVES to dance. Her legs are super strong and she is always kicking and she loves to jump! She is going to be trouble when she can crawl. She is always excited to meet new people, as long as they will hold her! :P  And of course what you have all been waiting for....pictures!!!

The new family at the hospital!

Some of my students came to visit me in the hospital. Ayumi wanted to feed Riano....so cute!

Awww...what a good Daddy!

So happy in Grandpa's arms!

I love to dance, or kick!

Our New House!

HURRAY! We found a nice house and our loan went through! :) Although this means we are super busy with paperwork and contracts. Before every Sunday was taken up by house hunting and now every Sunday is taken up by real estate agents, contracts, and all that craziness. I posted the video I took of the house on YouTube if you would like to check it out. Of course still not a great video, but you get the idea of what the house looks like. I must say I am glad we bought new, that I way I don't have to worry about the place being dirty when we move in. Since the all the paperwork is really stressful, my outlet has been looking at new furniture online and of course baby stuff. But I can't really decide on baby stuff since I don't know if it's a girl or boy yet. Plus, I am really lucky yo have such great friends here, everyone is ready to lend or give me everything from cribs to toys. :) I will have to get a list of things I will need/want :P together so everyone can buy stuff for the little baby. After I find out the sex, I will try to post a list. :) Till then keep busy with my house video!:D

MASAKI!

So I have some time off. I figured I would take some time to post some stuff about Masaki and some pictures. Not many have met him, so I know he is still a mystery. :P Well he is 36, he works for a gas company, he has a younger sister(Ako) and an older brother(Taketo). He is the first one to get married and the first one to have kids. :) His family is really nice. We went to visit his brother in February. He lives in a bigger city called Nagoya. He took us to a lot of nice places and we ate LOTS of yummy food. When he found out I was pregnant, I had said all my clothes were itchy and I think I needed to buy some 100% cotton undershirts to wear, he went and bought some for me! Such a sweet guy! His sister is a little more difficult, but at least she doesn't hate me as I previously thought! She lives pretty close, so we see her more often than his brother. His Mom and Dad live pretty close too. His Mom likes gardening and his Dad likes photography. He even has his own website. He likes to take pictures of nature, but never fails to take a picture when we visit the house. I also met Masaki's Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. They were pretty funny. They all directed questions they wanted to ask me to Masaki, and Masaki said you can ask her yourself! Of course when I met them, no one told them Masaki's fiance is a foreigner or that I could speak Japanese. So I am pretty sure they were all in shock. Glad no one had a heart attack. Although Masaki is always like that. The first time I met his parents he didn't tell them we were going to visit, and just showed up on the doorstep like it was the most normal thing ever. I felt bad for them, they were like if we knew you were coming we would have prepared snacks! So cute! Well, enough of the family.
How about some stuff about Masaki himself. He likes soccer, sports in general, amusement parks(rollercoasters),  bowling, kids, massages, and BBQ.  I am sure there is lots more than that, but for now that will do. We have been living together for over a year now. We met through the secretary I used to work with, although she quit recently! :( We actually just went to her wedding reception a week ago. It was fun! So the secretary I used to work with, her name is Eriko, was dating Masaki's friend at the time. I wanted to make more friends, and Eriko's boyfriend thought Masaki would make a good friend since he didn't really care about the whole foreign thing so much. We met and he was nice, a little arrogant at first, but still nice. :P We would usually hang out in a group, since he had a girlfriend at the time. Let's just say it wasn't the best relationship. She was a bit crazy, but in the end he broke up with her and we got together. Happy End!   He is really the sweetest guy in the planet. I am pampered beyond belief, especially now that I am pregnant. If he had his way, I would be in bed most of the time. He wants me to eat and sleep. Those are my jobs, or so I am told. He just wants to have a healthy baby and a healthy me too. Even when he works late he will drive back out after he gets home if I am craving something and buy it. God help us if we have a girl....he is going to be a slave Daddy! Anything she wants I am sure she will get. I guess I am here to balance that out. :P I honestly could talk for days about him, but I will stop here. :D And I will put up some pictures.

I think this one was taken on our way to a place called Hakone. We stayed at a Ryokan(Japanese style inn) for 3 days.

This is a picture of Masaki and his friend from college. We went to visit him, and he took us to this interesting shopping street. It had all sorts of anime characters and fun stuff. Masaki is trying to be tough and punch the mannequin. :P

I love this picture! Sophie just loved Masaki, she was sooo cute. She didn't want to let go of his hand while we were at the mall. And of course miss I hate pictures Olivia still managed a good shot with some tickling. And don't forget Devin with his every so charming smile! :D Such cuties!

So just a little info so everyone has some clue about Masaki. He has decided he will study English with the baby. He says maybe then he will learn something. :P Let's hope he is right, although I think if he wasn't sick last time maybe he would have spoken more. Although John likes to have difficult conversations! :P So maybe he wouldn't be able to. Or I just have to study Japanese more so I can translate correctly! We had a great time visiting my sister last Christmas, Masaki really wants to go back. I think he misses Sophie. :D Well that is all for now, and of course if I am leaving out anything ya want to know, just ask! <3

What it already moves? You're joking!

Ok, so I went to the doctor the other day, and I had another sonogram. This time not only does the little critter look like a human, but it was moving!! MOVING! Those little hands and feet were just going crazy. I still can't believe it, in two weeks the baby went from being a bean to moving?! I am so shocked, I am pretty sure I told Masaki about 30 times that day that the baby moved. I mean seriously it looked like the baby was going on a rampage. Please someone tell me that this is not a precursor to crazy pain later!! :0
Although that does mean the little bugger is healthy, which makes me a happy camper.  So on to what I was posting for the now human like creature moving around in my belly! The head is on the right side where the plus sign is, and the little circle like grey spot underneath the head to the left is the crazy moving hands! The baby is now 10 or 11 centimeters, I can't remember what the doc said, but around there. My next appointment is in a month, so unfortunately no new photos till then. Well at least no new baby photos! Maybe I'll post some of Masaki and I. :D

House Hunting!

In all this crazy preggerness, I realized my apartment is too small for a baby and all the stuff the baby needs! I had a little breakdown and told Masaki we need to move, which when I first found out I was pregnant I was like "Oh, we can totally live in the apartment for like 1 year!" And he so sweetly said, "Ok, let's move." and started looking for houses around here. I thought it would take more convincing, but it didn't. Maybe I was just looking for a fight, who knows. :P Anyway, houses here are super expensive, and many very small. But we managed to find two we like so far. Of course we are still looking. I took about 10 videos of every house we saw last weekend, 10 VERY BAD videos. I made the mistake of taking the video while I was still looking at the house for the first time. Basically it is like a roller coaster ride, and when it's finished you are not sure whether you are going to be sick or not! I posted the video on YouTube, may take a while to actually be posted, but check it out when and if you have the chance. :P Here's the link to my YouTube page.

Well, I think that is enough to keep ya busy for a bit! Enjoy!

Wah! There's a baby in my tummy!

I still can't believe there is a little life growing inside me. You think the morning sickness(which I truly believe they should change the name to something    more suitable such as sudden, anywhere, anytime sickness: SAAS for short) would make me a believer, but it still hasn't sunk in yet. So I figured I would make this blog for my friends and family who are too far away to know how I am doing. I am not sure how often I will update, but I will try to write as often as I can. :D So of course what you have all been waiting for, baby's picture! Here in Japan they take a sonogram every time you go to the doctor. Here the little critter is 9 weeks, and instead looking anything like a human, it looks more like a bean! :P Not complaining even beans are cute when they are inside your belly! <3 Oh, in case you can't figure out what's baby and what's not, the baby is in between the plus signs. The head is on the bottom. I think here the baby is around 6 or 7 centimeters. Tiny little bean!
Masaki(soon to be husband!) has been great, he comes with me to every doctor's visit. Which makes me feel more relaxed, especially since the receptionists aren't all that great. I love my doctor and the nurses, they are all wonderful. They take the time to explain things to me, listen to my questions, and even speak in English sometimes. But reception is a nightmare, that's where Masaki comes in, he always takes care of that stuff for me. Such a sweetie. He tells me my job is to eat, sleep, and relax and he will take care of everything else. Right now, I am super spoiled and of course super lucky to have such a great guy! :D
